Governance

Promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion across our platforms.

Diversity Equality and Inclusion is fundamental to who we are, from our leadership team and engineers to colleagues carrying out critical work in our offices, our people are central to our mission and our impact on the F1 circuit. We are steadfast in our commitment to being a team for everyone and embed equality, diversity and inclusion in every aspect of our work - be that internally through our processes or externally, via marketing campaigns.

Using key moments such as International Women’s Day, International Women in Engineering Day and campaigns such as F1 in Schools, F1’s Engineering Scholarship Program and our own internship program, Haas is committed to actively demonstrating its intentions for its workforce and the communities we race in, by providing a positive and progressive legacy where everyone feels empowered to participate.

F1 Engineering Scholarship Program

The STEM initiative, was set up in 2021 with the objective to address some of the key barriers to higher education for students from underrepresented backgrounds. In 2023, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team welcomed Sean Mata to the team, with Dom Haines - Head of Performance Engineering – overseeing his stay. Mata initially worked on the R&D side of the team before being given the opportunity to pursue a particular area of interest.

America’s Formula 1 team is proud to continue its collaboration and extend its support to the next generation of engineers in 2024 & 2025. The F1 Engineering Scholarship Program supports students by covering the costs of tuition for the duration of their degree as well as providing living expenses. It also provides access to the pinnacle of motorsport, creating work experience opportunities with teams during their second year of study.

Collaborating with Local Promoters

At each race location, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team works with Formula One Management and the local race promoters on activities to assist with the learning and entertainment of the local communities hosting the event.

We offer full hosting programs to schools, charities and local initiatives, and provide team representatives for Q&A sessions as well as meet and greets, giving participants the opportunity to learn more about motorsports. One example of this was our work with the promoters of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

In 2023, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team worked with local promoters in Australia, Saudi Arabia, the UK, America and the local promoter of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Students from Baku were invited students with a special interest in STEM topics to a qualifying day at the race weekend. Five students from Azerbaijan, Iran, Germany and Singapore were invited to the garage to watch a pit stop practice and be hands on with the VF-23. Our Engineering Department were on-hand to answers questions about car build, development and technical regulations during the car ‘show and tell’ presentation.

In 2024, the team has worked with local promoters in Bahrain, Japan, China, Canada, Austria, Baku, Brazil and Abu Dhabi to provide behind the scenes access to the team and sport like never before.
