Pietro Fittipaldi and Oliver Bearman confirmed for Pirelli Test
July 6, 2024MoneyGram Haas F1 Team drivers Pietro Fittipaldi and Oliver Bearman will participate in a two-day Pirelli Tire Test at Silverstone International Circuit on July 9-10.
Brazilian Fittipaldi will be behind the wheel of the VF-24 for the first time this year on Tuesday, as Bearman takes over driving duties on Wednesday.
The tire test comes at the end of an intense triple-header for the team, with the Race Team Support crew taking over the running of the VF-24. It also provides the opportunity for team members to trial different primary roles to gain vital and rare experience in a live environment. Ronan O’Hare, Performance Engineer for Nico Hulkenberg and Laura Mueller, Performance Engineer for Kevin Magnussen, will both act as Race Engineers for Fittipaldi and Bearman respectively.
“I’m super excited to be testing for MoneyGram Haas F1 Team in the Pirelli Tire Test, as it’s important to understand different compounds”, said Pietro Fittipaldi, Reserve Driver for MoneyGram Haas F1 Team. “It’s always a privilege to drive a Formula 1 car, and even more so to assist MoneyGram Haas F1 Team in its development. As we’ve seen, they’ve been doing a really great job currently with development, and I want to use this track time to help extrapolate as much data as I can for the team.”
“I will take any opportunity to get behind the VF-24, so after two free practices in close succession with the team, it’s a rare and fantastic opportunity to get a full day of running,” shared Oliver Bearman, Reserve Driver for MoneyGram Haas F1 Team. “I’m in a good rhythm with the team and next week – hopefully aided by good weather conditions – will let me expand my knowledge of driving a Formula 1 car ahead of my first season as a full-time driver.”
