Haas welcomes STEM RACING Students to SAGP
April 19, 2025
MoneyGram Haas F1 Team has worked with students in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since 2023, inspiring young Saudis to consider careers they may previously not have contemplated.
This year, America’s team worked once more with the Saudi Motorsport Company (SMC) to welcome the new U.S. Consul General in Jeddah, Rafik Mansour, and a group of high-performing Saudi ‘STEM RACING’ students to the F1 paddock for an evening of activities to provide insight and access to the pinnacle of motorsport.
Vast progress and a focus on education in STEM subjects has been made since the arrival of Formula 1 in the Kingdom, and with 75% of the Saudi population aged 35 and under, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team is proud to play its part in providing first-hand insight and advice on how to gain a career within industries that rely on STEM subjects at its core.
Meeting with drivers Esteban Ocon and Ollie Bearman, the students put their most probing questions to the duo, including their own knowledge of STEM subjects and the importance of the relationship with their engineers. After an exclusive paddock and pitlane walk where students got to see all 10 teams prepare for Sunday’s 50-lap race, they sat down with Paul Sutton, Aerodynamics Team Leader, Paul Sutton.
Paul shared his own path into the sport, covering what topics he studied in higher education as well as how those subjects translate into the workplace.
Following a successful day of activities and discussions, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team would like to thank the U.S. Consulate of Jeddah, Consul General Rafik Mansour and Saudi Motorsport Company for their continued support and collaboration at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
